    Hi Keith,

Thanks for your reply and help. LVS extraction is now working fine.

You're right it's just the PYTHONHOME path environment setup is not correct.

I did fix the environment variable setup in windows 10.

    1. Path – %PYTHONHOME% and %GLADE_HOME%
    2. PYTHONHOME – C:UserAPDKglade4_win64Python27
    3. GLADE_HOME – C:UserAPDKglade4_win64

    Cheer,

    Hi Admin,

    Hope your doing great!

I'm playing with the APDKCNM25 downloaded the kit and extracted it in my local drive.
Followed instruction in the manual to modify the glade.bat file to point the right GLADE directory.

My problem is when I did run the Verify>Extract>Run LPE…
I'm getting this error messages after running the extraction.

Hope you could point me out.

    Thanks!

    Hi Admin,

I've recently downloaded the latest version which is Ver 4.1.74.

I tried importing GDSII file(every single file small/big) it keeps on crashing "Glade.exe has stopped working"

Hope this will be fixed with the next release.

    Cheers and Happy Holidays,

    Hi Admin,

Thank you for your prompt reply as always great support.

Regarding that GDSII to DWG files the Glade tool can import and export DXF files which is also AutoCad proprietary.

I don't know if there is much difference between the .DWG compare to .DXF extensions.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoCAD_DXF

I'm not sure if this OpenDesign Specs for .dwg file is the one your looking for.

    http://www.opendesign.com/files/guestdownloads/OpenDesign_Specification_for_.dwg_files.pdf

Again thank you for your help.

    Hi Admin,

Wishlist – Is Glade tool capable of converting GDSII files to DWG files?

I saw that the tool is capable of exporting files to DXF.

I hope you can add this on into your next update.

    Hi Keith,

Yes I did get an error saying that "QtOpenGL4 dll is either not designed to run Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system admin or software vendor."

What I did was I copied the Qt dll files from previous version 4.1.39 and overwrite the Qt dll in version 4.1.43 and it works.

Hope I explain myself clear now.

    Hi Admin,

I've encounter the same error the last working version I've got is win32_4.1.39.
I installed win32_4.1.43 latest one and copy all Qt's dll files from 4.1.39 and overwrite them and now it seem that my 4.1.43 version is working normally…not fully tested though.

Hope this add my 5 cent knowledge.

    Hi Admin,

I've done some layout practice with the latest version of glade tool and found out that when I created a path i.e metal1 with some angled path and try stretching the 2 ends of the path partial selection the metal1 doesn't go straight but it goes in different angles.

Also the Shield top/bottom option is not working.

See attached pix for path issue.

Again another thank you for your support.

The 2 steps is true if your don't specify the library explicitly and used the "default" setup, but if I want to specify my library then I have to do the 3 steps.
Can be done in 2 steps as long as I have the exported techfile into glade.tch file

Importing GDSII file (Ctrl+) the "Into Library" was set to "default" and no option of specifying your "new library".

    Hope I explain myself clear.

    Hi Admin,

Thank you again for the prompt reply.

Yes you're right that you can do it in 2 steps but that is when you already exported your cadence techfile to glade techfile and attached the exported techfile to the new library.

So happy to used this tool.

    Hi Admin,

How do I set-up my environment variable in Windows 7?

Do I have to to set it up in User variables or system variables?
Do I have to set it up correctly to use the editor properly…because I can still used it just unzipping the file and run the glade.exe without installing the vcredist_x64.exe?

What do you mean "Set the environment variable GLADE_HOME to this directory." what is this directory?

Thank you once again for your help.

    Hi Admin,

I really like your tool…it's great piece of software.
Can you please add some features when Importing GDSII file and/or creating a new library it will attached the required cadence technology file in it.

At the moment it takes 3 steps to import GDSII file.
    1. Creating new lib
    2. Import Cadence tech file to the created new lib
    3. Import GDS file

It would be nice if we can have all of these in one go.

    Thank you!
