In the latest version (5.0.9 / 4.4.48) the ability to group objects has been introduced. You can select shapes or instances (or even other groups) and create a group from them. Then, the group can be manipulated like a single object – move, copy, rotate the group as if it was an instance. Groups can have objects added to them, have objects removed from them, or you can ungroup them. They are another useful tool for managing design complexity.
